Do you want to learn more about the upcoming total solar eclipse? Let Penn Dixie bring the excitement of this rare celestial event to your group with our newest outreach program Witnessing Wonder: Exploring the Total Solar Eclipse! We’ll explore the conditions that happen to create different types of eclipses, what it means to be in the path of totality, and how to safely view this memorable occasion.
Witnessing Wonder can be geared towards audiences of all ages and can be customized to meet the needs of your group. Please note that adult programs have a cap of 60 participants and children’s programs have a limit of 30 participants.
Priority will be given to organizations that have not already been awarded a free program. Duplicate programs to the same organization or audience will only be awarded if funds remain at the end of the application period.
— Programs include —
* 45 minutes with a Penn Dixie educator
* Set of solar viewing glasses for each participant (while supplies last)
* Kids’ programs include a craft for each child
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, M&T Bank and NYSEG, we are able to offer a number of free eclipse education programs to our community! Groups are eligible for 1 free program, additional programs can be booked at our regular rate of $200. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the form will be closed once our capacity is met. Witnessing Wonder can be booked from late January through April 5th.
Please note that the demand for free programing will likely surpass our fund capacity. If your group / organization is not selected for a free eclipse program, you are still able to request a program at our standard rate of $200.
