The Hamburg Natural History Society reserves the right to cancel, change, or alter programs, tours, and admissions. Though Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Reserve operates in rain and cold weather, severe conditions (storms, lightning, wildfire smoke, extreme temperatures) may result in cancellation or delay. Weather-related closures are announced on social media (Facebook, Instagram).
Penn Dixie will make every effort to communicate changes to the booking contact via email. Cancellations or changes to a reservation by a booking contact must be received and approved by the cancellation deadline below. You may Contact Us via email or phone to do so; email is preferred for expedience.
Admission: General admission tickets purchased at the park are non-refundable. Tickets purchased online must be used on the specified date and time of booking; participants who arrive later than their scheduled tour time will be placed into the next available tour, up until 2:45 pm. Participants arriving after 2:45 pm will not be admitted. Unused tickets purchased online may be refunded if you Contact Us within 5 business days of the scheduled date. In the event of park closure, we will contact you to reschedule your visit.
Group (Private) Bookings: Changes to your reservation, including final group numbers, must be made 48 hours prior to the scheduled visit. Groups which arrive at Penn Dixie and did not provide us with the change 48 hours prior to the start of the reservation may not receive a refund for the difference in price.
Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours in advance. We will do our best to reschedule tours, provided staffing is available and the new date does not conflict with an existing tour. If a tour cannot be rescheduled, we will issue a refund. If a cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the scheduled program, we reserve the right to charge the full program fee. If you booked a program that was canceled by Penn Dixie, you will receive a full refund.
Group (Private) Bookings include: School Field Trips, Group Tours (10+ participants), Scout Programs, Private Expeditions, Junior Geologist Expeditions, On-Demand Access
Birthday Parties: Penn Dixie will not refund deposits for cancellations made fewer than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the party. In the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to work with you to reschedule the party or we will issue a full refund.
Public Programs: Penn Dixie will not refund payments for cancellations or changes made less than 72 hours prior to the program. Refunds will not be available for participants who choose not to attend a program. If you registered for a program that was canceled by Penn Dixie, you will receive a full refund.
Public programs include: Nature Walks, Owl Prowls, Fossil Hunting for Beginners, Extended Tours

Memberships: Membership is non-refundable. Discounts must be applied at the time of purchase. Memberships are not transferable and cannot be applied to participants for group programs (school field trips) or birthday parties.
