Penn Dixie needs 25 stewards to help us organize, motivate diggers, and verify our record as the World’s Largest Fossil Dig on Saturday August 25th (here’s some more information on the event). The stewards:
- Cannot be affiliated with Penn Dixie (cannot be a volunteer, relative of or a member of the organization)
- Must be present at 9:45 am for an important briefing and to receive materials
- Will review rules and procedures with participants prior to the record attempt
- Monitor and supervise 50 participants within a secured fossil collecting area
- Make sure that all participants complete 30 minutes of fossil collecting
- Remind participants to complete required digging documentation
- Official Guinness Fossil collecting ends at noon, stewards will be needed up to 12:30 – 1 pm.
Stewards will receive commemorative t-shirts and guest passes to Penn Dixie Fossil Park and Nature Reserve. Register here to be a steward.
We are also still accepting registration for diggers to help us set the Guinness Record for the World’s Largest Fossil Dig. Here’s a link to register for the dig as a participant.
