This week we're featuring a fossil find from our board member, Alasdair Gilfillan⛏️ Alasdair recently unearthed a Greenops that was split right down the middle, but with a lot of patience, prep, and TLC, he made that Greenops look glorious!👏 The first photo shows the trilobite as it was found, the second photo is the two halves being glued together, and the last two shots feature the finished specimen from both sides. Another great find and prep by Alasdair!
We are excited to announce that we have received $250,000 in funding to build a new pavilion and picnic area from Assemblymember Jon Rivera. The Town of Hamburg and Hamburg Town Supervisor Randy Hoak are also contributing $100,000 toward the project. This funding will go towards an improved entrance, a new check-in and programming pavilion, improved restroom facilities and infrastructure upgrades that will add trail connections. We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our organization from Assemblymember Rivera and Supervisor Hoak. We would also like to thank IUOE Local 17 for donating their labor and expertise to this project which began this year and will continue in 2023. We're looking forward to welcoming visitors to our updated site in the near future!
