We didn't get any footage from this morning's earthquake, but our on-site cameras did catch something strange today - a turkey parade through the parking lot! If you look closely under the date & time stamp, you can see a number of turkeys waddling towards the park entrance. It's well known that Penn Dixie is home to quite a few wild turkeys, but we've never seen a flock this size before!🦃
Happy #FossilFebruary! Send us your Penn Dixie finds using the link in our bio and get 2 free passes to the park⚒
Happy #FossilFriday! This Eldredgeops rana was prepped and photographed by a new addition to our Board of Directors, Paul Chinnici⛏️ Welcome Paul, and thank you for sharing your great work with us! Be on the lookout for more of Paul's preps in the coming months🙂
Happy #FossilFriday from these cool crinoid stem fragments! Don't overlook that little one on the right🔍 Unearthed by a participant during Dig with the Experts 2022⚒️
Happy #FossilFriday! Check out this cool plate featuring two complete Eldredgeops rana trilobites, trilo-bits, and other Devonian treasures. Unearthed by board member and longtime friend of Penn Dixie, Joseph "PaleoJoe" Kchodl⚒
Volume up 🔊 Here's a neat #ThrowbackThursday video from last January of two feisty foxes! The vocalization that these foxes are making is known as "gekkering", and is most often heard when a fox encounters a rival🦊
Happy #FossilFriday from this sweet Spinatrypa spinosa, unearthed at Penn Dixie by James Hanna⚒️ On account of their fragile nature, the spines on these brachiopods are often completely absent, so it's always exciting to see a specimen in its spiny glory!
Happy #FossilFriday from this killer Eldredgeops rana duo, unearthed at Penn Dixie by Mike Meacher, owner of @stormbed_paleontological⛏️ Great find and prep work, Mike!😃
