Two science talks for the price of one!
First, as a preview to Dig With The Experts, Executive Director Dr. Phil Stokes presents an introduction to Penn Dixie’s fossils. He will provide an overview of the local rocks and Devonian Period marine fossils that you might find at Penn Dixie. For some context, he will discuss the history of geology, including William ‘Strata’ Smith’s famous geological map of England and how it connects to the rocks and fossils found in Western New York.
Stick around for refreshments, and a book signing and keynote presentation by Paleontologist Joe ‘PaleoJoe’ Kchodl of Midland, Michigan.
