An Archeologist’s Perspective

Wednesday March 20, 7 pm

By Dr. Caitlin Chaves Yates

Dr. Chaves Yates’ talk will explore the differences between archaeology and paleontology and examine how archaeologists work. Drawing on her experience as an archaeologist working in the Middle East, Dr. Chaves Yates will discuss what archaeology is and how archaeologists use material culture (artifacts) to make interpretations about the past. This talk will look at objects and archaeological excavations from ancient Mesopotamia and explain how they can help us understand ancient cities.

An illustrated presentation in the auditorium of the Gateway Executive Office Building, 3556 Lake Shore Rd. Blasdell, NY.
